Motivation for taking action
In order to create a plan unique to your situation, I look at the whole person from past to future, physical, social, and mental health. I utilize theories that are proven to be most helpful for clients and are special to my own journey. These include: Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Jungian Analytical Depth Psychology. These modalities allow my clients to see improvements in both physical and mental health, as well as clearing barriers that prevent them from their full potential, providing long lasting effects.
Benefits of working with me are…
Calmness
Improved sense of being within your head and your body. We’re all getting older and improving stress, sleep, and overall health can help use tremendously along the way.
Communication
Improved communication with yourself (your thoughts) and others. This helps to improve our relationship with yourself and those around you at home and work/school.
Taking Action
We all have thoughts and wants for our life. Taking action to improve your situation is a key component of therapy and it starts with reaching out!
Dane Nielsen, MA, LPC, LMHC, CADC
I hold a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin’s University College of Education and Counseling located in Lacey, Washington. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in both Oregon and Pennsylvania, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington, and also Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in Oregon. My work and education has provided me with the opportunity to work with clients and groups in multiple settings including: private practice, adults in an outpatient mental health clinic, young adults in a university counseling center, teens and adults in an inpatient chemical dependency center, and at-risk youth in residential settings. I utilize these experiences, additional trainings/seminars, courses/texts, my own personal journey, and my martial arts training to inform my work with clients.
Fees and Insurance
I have setup my work in a way that allows us the ability to create an individualized and unique plan that fits your personal needs and addresses all your concerns. It also allows me to have a stronger level of privacy for my clients, a guarantee that you will always be able to receive services from the same therapist, and shorter wait times to begin therapy. To obtain this, my practice does not directly accept insurance plans. Alternatively, I do offer insurance reimbursement paperwork (superbills) that can be submitted to your insurance provider allowing you to utilize your out of network benefits. Most insurance providers have this option such as: Providence, Blue-Cross Blue-Shield (BCBS), MODA, CIGNA, and United Healthcare (UHC) just to name a few. This process is minimal and involves sending them a monthly statement. Most of my clients do this process and are directly sent a check for part or all their paid session fees. I also can directly accept HSA/FSA cards for payment of services. A “Good Faith Estimate” will also be provided to all clients so they may be fully informed of the costs involved with treatment.
Consultation
Due to the nature of the therapy relationship, it is important for me to make sure we are a good fit for each other, this involves parents of teen clients as well. I offer an initial brief phone consultation which allows you to ask questions about myself and the process of therapy. Please fill out the form below and I promise to call you on my next workday.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
